Welcome to my website! 

You'll find here information about private, one-on-one lessons for students of singing and music theory.

Lessons are offered to students of any age from 8 to adult, and in a variety of musical styles - classical, Irish, music theatre and popular.  Theory lessons map to ABRSM graded examinations.

I'm based in Firhouse, Dublin.

About Áine

Áine Mulvey (M.Mus., Ph.D) is a mezzo-soprano, vocal teacher, choral conductor and musicologist. Áine has worked with many of Ireland’s top ensembles including the National Chamber Choir, Opera Ireland and the RTE Concert Orchestra and has recorded with New World Records and the Signum Classics record label.

 

She holds a Masters in Music Performance from the Petrie School of Music, USA, and in 2021 completed a Ph.D. in Musicology at Dublin City University, where she was awarded a postgraduate scholarship from the Irish Research Council.  Áine’s research thesis on Song Literature in Ireland during the Irish Cultural Revival (1891-1922) was nominated by DCU for the 2022 Harry White Doctoral Prize.

 

Áine has a busy private practice in vocal tuition, and has held teaching positions in the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin City University, the Leinster School of Music, Christ Church Cathedral and Sandford Park Secondary School. She is currently a vocal tutor and choral director at Mount Sackville Secondary School.

 

As a choral conductor, Áine has conducted many prize-winning ensembles including the AIB Choral Society, Nás na Rí Singers, the Dublin Male Voice Choir, the Mount Sackville Junior Choir and The Plurabelles. Recent awards for her ensembles include first prizes in the Dublin Feis Ceoil, Kilcoole Music Festival and the Derry International Choral Festival.  Áine also works as a choral practitioner with Sing Ireland’s SingSpace initiative.
